Also all the others bands gave their very best to write amazing songs in order to make this compilation a great documentation of our scene. KDS Crew "Rise and fall" (theageofvenus) Le livret, plein de nostalgie, est là pour nous faire comprendre que l'axe Rennes/Nantes a pendant plusieurs années contribué aux heures de gloire du hardcore français. Une fois le cd dans la platine, on comprend effectivement la force de frappe de cette scène. Entre hardcore et métal, plusieurs groupes donnent ici le meilleur d'eux-mêmes au moyens d'inédits et de titres live. Right 4 Life ouvre le bal et détruit tout sur son passage comme à son habitude, puis s'enchaînent Underground Society, Slamface (désormais To Learn), Awol, Straight Up, As One, Darkseid et chose carrément incroyable, Stormcore reformé le temps d'un inédit trois ans après le split. Difficile donc de ne pas comprendre la certaine mélancolie palpable dans le texte d'Olivier de The Age Of Venus lorsqu'on réalise que seulement deux groupes sont encore en vie : Right 4 Life et Underground Society. Mais le propos de cette excellente compilation, déja mythique, n'est pas d'enterrer le hardcore. Au contraire, le futur du style est plus que jamais là et pas besoin d'aller chercher bien loin : Right 4 Life s'apprête à sortir un nouvel opus, To Learn vient de faire des débuts excellents et Underground Society nous a livré un nouveau méfait. Au fait, n'oubliez pas de pousser le disque un peu plus loin que les 10 titres présents sur la pochette car plusieurs live terribles vous attendent en piste cachée. (review by manu)
